Designed for road riding and racing, the San Remo incorporates a large frame design. Like all of our optics, the lenses adapt to varying solar intensity which provides optimal performance in low to bright light conditions without having to change lenses.
Specialized AdaptaliteTM lenses adapt to varying ambient UV levels, providing optimal performance in low to bright light conditions without having to change lenses.
By varying the amount of light transmission, AdaptaliteTM lenses maximize comfort without sacrificing optical clarity.
AdaptaliteTM lenses provide 100% UVA and UVB protection throughout the full range of light transmission.
AdaptaliteTM NXTTM lenses are 10-20% lighter than other plastic lenses.
Unique Specialized AdaptaliteTM lenses are made from NXTTM, a revolutionary innovation in unbreakable optical polymer technology.
Exclusive Road Lens formulation enhances color recognition for safety
Vented design prevents fogging
Lens and frame angles are designed for cycling-specific application in the riding position
Larger frame and lens provides more coverage
Frame color choices: Black, Metallic Blue, White and Silver
AdaptaliteTM Photochromic Lens Technology
Adaptalite™ lenses automatically adapt to varying UV levels, changing from dark to light tint in less than 15 seconds. (Fig. A), while providing full time 100% UVA and UVB protection and exceptional optical clarity. Both mountain and road lens formulations have been optimized for their unique environments, each covering a different range. The mountain lens starts lighter to accommodate for low-light conditions, while the road lens achieves a darker lens at the other end of the spectrum to better handle long exposed climbs in the sun (Fig B.)
NXTTM
Our unique Specialized AdaptaliteTM lenses are made from NXTTM, a revolutionary innovation in unbreakable optical polymer technology. It’s optically superior, 10% to 20% lighter, and more shatterproof than any polycarbonate lens. The picture below shows a bullet that was stopped by a similar piece to what is used in the Apache helicopters.
