Designed especially for those of you who must jump things, drop off of things, and generally run into things very, very hard. The SteelSet™ is the strongest headset King made to date. The cups are completely redesigned and made of (you guessed it) steel. Bearing cap too. The cups press into the frame a full inch deep (that's about 3 times deeper than a normal headset cup). This extra deep press into the frame will help to protect your frameset investment. Size: 1 1/8" 223g.
What can be said about the NoThreadset. Probably a fair number of your riding buddies have them. They last nearly forever. Most of us have moved the same King headset from frame to frame. Winter after winter without ever taking the seals out to clean the bearings. When properly installed, going beyond the 10 year warranty is normal for a King Headset.
The 1 1/8" threadless headset has been mountain bike standard for a few years now. Now many road bikes have adopted this size and style. It works great there too. This change has made for stronger, lighter road forks and frames.

Today, our threadless headset is available in all standard sizes as well as our exclusive Devolution size (allows 1-1/4 inch frames to use 1-1/8 inch forks).
