Woodcock Cycle Has Gone Green
With our new location we have taken several steps to become more environmentally friendly, here are some examples.
- Reused any viable building materials from the previous owner's office layout.
- Recycled the existing store and workshop flooring, reconfigured and reused the existing workbenches, as well as reused old cigarette sales lockers as mechanics tool cabinets.
- Installed ceiling fans in high ceiling areas, on in the winter to circulate heat, Off in the summer to reduce the amount of time the AC is running.
- Re-insulated the entire bicycle showroom, where most of the outdoor walls of our building are located.
- Re fitted all the old light fixtures with high efficient t6 lights and ballasts and installed new t8 lights in our bicycle showroom.
- Retrofitted all non sales areas with motion sensor lights.
- Installed a high efficiency Dual Flush Toilet system.
- Replaced 2 furnace/ac units with more efficient Units.
- Replaced our outside reader board sign with a high efficency LED sign.
- We turn off all the lights every night.
- Our Bags are biodegradeable.
- Our most popular tube sizes are offered in bulk (no packaging)
- We crush and recycle cans and bottles from our pop and energy drinks.
- All of our cardboard boxes are recycled as well as plastic bags and containers.
- Employees are encouraged to cycle to work, and we provide them with bike storage and showering facilities.
- And of course we sell bicycles, a more environmentally friendly alternative to transportation with a wide selection of commuter specific bicycles
