A True All-Terrain Bike

Fat bikes are off-road bikes that feature wider tires, traditional mountain bike geometry, and durable components so that you can have fun on the trails (or in the woods or on the beach) all year long. If you're looking for a four-season freedom machine that lets you ride outside no matter what the weather or terrain, a fat bike is the perfect bike for you.

Why Fat Bikes?

A perfect all season bike that can take on many different types of terrain. Why choose a fat bike...?

Bigger Is Better

Enjoy superior traction with big, fat tires. These bikes are typically equipped with 3.8 inch or wider tires, and are designed to support lower pressure for better surface contact. What that means for you is unparalleled traction and stability in soft, sketchy terrain such as snow, sand, mud, and loose gravel.

Handle Anything

If you're thinking that a bike designed with giant tires is going to feel sluggish under you, come in and try one out - we know that you'll be pleasantly surprised. Fat bikes feature compact geometry that is characteristic of a traditional trail bike, ensuring that you don't compromise handling or responsiveness as you're out playing in the rain and snow.

Remarkable Versatility

The conditions that a fat bike can handle aren't the only thing that makes this bike category so versatile. Fat bikes come in a variety of frame materials, include carbon fiber, aluminum, and steel, and with a range of component groups and suspension setups. Explore our selection online and visit us today to find the fat bike that's right for you.

Gear Up & Go

Safe and reliable bike gear will lead to more enjoyable rides. We want to help you to be prepared for anything, read more about our suggested fat bike essentials:

Winter Helmet

Helmets are necessary whenever you are on a bike. For winter fat biking and commuting, we recommend a winter-specific helmet, especially as the winters get very cold. Helmets needs to fit snug but should not hurt when they are worn, so please ensure that your helmet is fitted properly. If you're unsure, our staff is trained to give you advice on the best fit.

Front & Rear Lights

Front and rear lights ensure a safer, smoother riding experience. Add reflective equipment to your setup for additional coverage on the road and on the trail. Studies have found that daytime running lights improve visibility in all conditions, so there’s never a bad time to shine. Check out our selection of bright, durable front and rear lights.

Flat Pack & Floor Pump

Make sure you carry the essentials such as: pump, pressure gauge, spare tube, zip ties, and a small pair of pliers. Other handy tools include: a chain breaker, tire lever, and the usual hex and torx bits.

At home, we recommend keeping a low pressure floor pump handy, a bike work stand, a full set of hex wrenches, bike grease and grease gun, a chain cleaning kit, spoke wrenches, and of course chain lube.

Water & Snacks

Even though we're riding in the cold, we are still spending energy: drinks and snacks are a necessity. Bring snacks on your ride, but remember that they may freeze, and plan accordingly. We suggest dried fruit bars and crunchy energy bars as they are less prone to freezing. Make sure that your water bottle is insulated or is in an insulated sleeve as well, as you don't want your hydration to freeze.

Warm Clothing

It is important to wear warm, breathable clothing when riding your bike in winter. We recommend a layering system: start with a merino wool base layer to wick sweat, a mid-layer for insulation, and an outer shell to block wind and moisture. Make sure to add some winter gloves as well; the claw-type are great for keeping your hands warm while maintaining the range of motion on your brakes and shifters.

Regular Bike Maintenance

Like any bicycle, regular maintenance is essential for safe operation. Before your ride, check your tire pressure, test your brakes, and follow any other manufacturer recommendations. Visit us every six months for inspection and professional a professional tune-up.
